ASP Horizon 3 Workshop – The Emerging Future. 6th November, 15:30 – 17:30

This month, we’re continuing our journey along the Three Horizons framework. After our Horizon 1 workshop where we noticed the systems in decline and letting go of business as usual, we now look to Horizon 3: Imagining a more viable future.

Here, we are feeling the values of a safe and just future, and imagining what ASP could be. What is ASP’s vision of the future?

We’ll be exploring these questions in small groups:

• What are the underlying principles of of a more viable (beautiful) future? What would it feel like?
• What long-term trends are driving towards this future?
• What is your vision of an emerging future? Who could we be?

Those questions will lead us into discussions with the whole group, looking at:

• In ASP, what values, beliefs, practices, and norms would support a more viable future?
• How do we respond to the long-term trends affecting our work?
• Who does ASP need to be to enable our vision?

Through these discussions we’re not asking to have all the answers straight away, but we’re looking to find a deeper understanding or a new way of being in the future, with the help of our members, perspectives, and practices.

We’ll hold all of these questions open until the end of the exploration phase, around February 2026, when we’ll gather the threads and consider how they converge on a way forward for the organisation.

During this session we’ll again be working together in small breakout groups of three or four, and gathering en masse to share and discuss the insights that emerge. We’ll use Zoom along with our virtual whiteboard on Miro to document our progress.

We’d love you to join us if you can, though a recording will of course be available afterwards, along with the whiteboard, and you’ll be welcome to contribute further responses until early 2026. Don’t worry about missing the last session or if you can’t come to this one – there will be plenty more opportunity to be involved with the process still as it develops!
