Hi I’m Tanya,
I’m a Welsh-based professional Sustainability Coach, Facilitator, Trainer, and Consultant with 30 years’ experience of working with leaders in public and community service, winning awards for my team focused approach to embedding sustainability into the core purpose for the public sector.
I have developed a deep and practical understanding of the political and social context for the well-being of future generations and sustainable development in Wales, having played a critical role in the development of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act whilst working for local and Welsh Government and the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales until a couple of years ago.
In 2021 I created Future Clarity as vehicle for my work to incorporate sustainability and nature-based approaches in leadership and organisational development.
My aim is to empower my clients, so when our work together ends, they have the knowledge, tools and confidence to make a positive difference in securing a sustainable future for the next generation and inspire others to do the same.
I’ll often work with nature as a fellow collaborator and guide, helping my clients engage with the ever-changing and interconnected world, so they can think and work systemically and regeneratively.
My current projects include Climate Change leadership training for Welsh local government bodies, researching the different pathways to adapting to living with climate change with Cardiff University, and exploring the benefits of aligning work and planning with natural cycles and rhythms for our well-being and performance, as individuals and for organisations.
The role gender plays in effective leadership for sustainability and climate change, is a keen interest for me. I’m an affiliate lead for the Women in Sustainability Network here in Wales, and I’m currently looking for funding to do a PhD looking at how feminine and masculine approaches to transformational leadership affects sustainable development and climate change governance.
I play an active role in the global network the Climate Coaching Alliance and I am a member of the International Association of Facilitators and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.
When I’m not working with people to achieve their sustainability goals you can find me walking with my dogs in Swansea, swimming off the beautiful beaches we have in Wales, or paying a check-in on the cows of my local community-based conservation and agriculture scheme.
