I am a climate risk and sustainability specialist and the founder of Jaya Karbon Kounsel.

I began my career in academia, working as a university lecturer at various institutions in Kenya. I then transitioned into the corporate world as a data analytics consultant, working with organizations including the World Bank and the United Nations.

At the end of 2022, I felt a strong urge to apply my skills and knowledge to addressing the challenges faced by communities across the African continent. In September 2023, I moved to Dublin, Ireland to study Economics, where I was introduced to and deepened my focus in the Energy, Climate, and Sustainability space.

Having gained significant knowledge in this field, and driven by the goal of creating meaningful impact in Africa, I moved back home at the end of 2025 to found Jaya Karbon Kounsel.

My work at Jaya is anchored in four core areas: empowering communities to build climate resilience through capacity development and co-developed, locally relevant adaptation and mitigation solutions; partnering with national and county governments to integrate climate risks into economic development plans by offering evidence-based, practical, and scalable policy solutions; collaborating with universities, researchers, and institutions to advance applied research, generate actionable data, and build capacity through summer schools, workshops, and training programs; and guiding companies in embedding ESG practices into their operations and strategies to support the transition toward a more sustainable future.

Climate risk is a major challenge today, and Africa is facing the hardest impacts despite contributing the least to the problem. I am determined to use my expertise to support practical, locally driven solutions that build resilience and guide better policies.
