My name is Oluwakemi Awosusi-Adekunle and I am building a career within the sustainability and sustainable development space, with a growing focus on the nexus of food, fashion, and facilities.
I am deeply interested in understanding how these sectors intersect and how integrated systems can create long-term social, economic and environmental impact within communities.
Over time, I have had the opportunity to work with NGOs and initiatives focused on climate&sustainability, social impact, cleantech, and community development. These experiences have strengthened my passion for practical, community-driven solutions that improve livelihoods while promoting environmental responsibility.
Currently, I am exploring how sustainable systems can be developed around agriculture, eco-enterprises, fashion and building materials. My interest lies in creating models where farming and local production can support multiple needs within society — from food provision to fabric processing from agricultural materials, as well as sourcing wood and other natural materials for household interiors and construction purposes. I believe these sectors are interconnected and can work together to promote economic empowerment, reduce waste, encourage local production and strengthen community resilience.
I am particularly passionate about how sustainability can move beyond theory into practical systems that create opportunities for women, youth and underserved communities. My long-term vision is to contribute to initiatives and enterprises that combine sustainability, ethical production, innovation and social development in ways that are both impactful and scalable.
Beyond professional interests, I value collaboration, continuous learning, creativity and service. I enjoy engaging with ideas and people who are committed to building a more sustainable and equitable future.
I am excited to continue learning, researching, and contributing within this space, especially through projects connected to food systems, sustainable fashion, eco-enterprises, foundation and facilities thereby enhancing community-centered development.
Once again, thanks for the opportunity to be part of the group of like minded professionals.
