My work encompasses education, community, food systems, health, and sustainability. I enjoy helping our youngest generation make sense of complex systems — developing the curiosity, critical thinking and values-based approaches they will need to navigate them — and I love creating spaces for people to come together, share knowledge and strengthen theirp connection with food, nature, local people, and place.”

I am the founder of The Nutrition Advisory Team (NAT) and creator of Nutri-Kit® and RootEd®. My main areas of focus are education, nutrition, human behaviour, community, food systems and nature connectedness. I explore how we can better prepare children and communities for the challenges ahead.

A former primary headteacher with more than two decades in education and a Master’s in Nutrition and Behaviour, my work increasingly focuses on the relationships between people, food, health and the living systems that sustain us.

I am particularly interested in developing systems thinking(for myself and others): working to further understand the connections between what can too easily be treated as separate issues — human health, soil, biodiversity, farming, water, food production, behaviour, education and community.

The NAT is developing two products:

Nutri-Kit®– developing a new approach to food systems education for children, connecting learning about the body and health with food production, nature, sustainability and the wider environment. RootEd™ is currently being developed as a place where business meets nature through collaborative learning. Drawing on expertise from education, human behaviour, ecology and the natural world, RootEd will offer learning packages that use nature to explore how we think, work, lead, collaborate and understand complex systems.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: lasting change begins when we understand relationships. Our crafted education experiences can help people notice systems, understand their place within them and make more informed choices for themselves, their loved ones and our planet.
