My name is Debbie Warrener and I’m an experienced facilitator of leadership retreats and workshops for environmental activists as well as strategy sessions and away days for organisations – primarily in the non-profit sector. Currently I also have a “day job” working on advocacy and engagement on environmental issues in Japan and Korea.

As this is the first ASP Wisdom Council, I wanted to both introduce myself and to share some information on the intentions.

Intention

The intention is to have a space where wisdom and wider perspectives on the role and emerging work of ASP can be shared. It is a space to share and listen from the heart.

The question at the heart of this first Council is: What could ASP become?

Speaking from a perspective

You are invited to choose a perspective to “speak from”. This is at the heart of the council – the opportunity to hear wider and deeper perspectives on the core question/s.

For example, you may wish to speak from an aspect of nature, a particular tree or place, a profession, a skill or practice, future generations, or a group or part of society – anything actually! This is being willing to simply represent that perspective in the council and to share from your heart in the moment what comes up for you.

So in preparation for the council gathering, I invite you to feel into what you feel “called” to speak as. And if nothing comes to mind, you are also most welcome to attend as yourself – as an honoured guest in the council.

I very much look forward to gathering with you on the 29th and to seeing what emerges then!

Debbie
