The future is not something we inherit—it’s something we create. Solarpunk invites us to imagine otherwise: a world where people and nature thrive together, where resilience is built from the ground up, and where technology serves community, not the other way around.
In this special themed café, we’ll explore what makes a story solarpunk—what kinds of futures it envisions, how it differs from dystopian and techno-utopian narratives, and who is shaping the genre. Then, we’ll step beyond theory and into practice, experimenting together with storytelling as a form of world-building. What happens when we start writing the futures we want to see?
Along the way, we’ll talk about the power of fiction to stretch our imagination, plant seeds of change, and give form to emergent knowledge. How do stories act as psychoactive spaces? How can they shape culture and consciousness, offering maps to futures worth fighting for?
Join us as we co-create visions of a more beautiful, possible world—one that starts in the telling and takes root in the real. Perhaps some of what we create together will find its way into the Grokkist Press… or even the first volume of The Grokkists’ Solarpunk Novellas.

- 💬 Themed Cafes are special community-led gatherings that delve into topics resonant with the grokkist community. These sessions provide space for in-depth exploration on a range of themes, from philosophical discussions to personal passions.
- ⏳ Up to 2 hours. Come and join us for a little while or stay for the whole time. No pressure at all!
- ▶️ The session will be recorded and added to the event recordings library.
