Professionally, I work at the intersection of brand innovation, strategic design and marketing communications to support entrepreneurs and startup founders working under highly resource-constrained contexts.
Over the course of my career in creative marketing agencies, I have designed, directed, and executed business innovation design, branding projects and marketing campaigns that disrupted existing rules, patterns and logic of industries and markets especially in the multinational landscape in Africa. Meanwhile, in the last 7 years, I have shifted my focus to support startup founders and SMEs owners to develop, implement, launch, and scale their brands in different industries and hyper-competitive markets.
Under Brand Xense Africa, a social business initiative I created and implemented to trigger transformation in African enterprise landscape, about 500 SMEs and Startups were supported to design, develop, launch and scale brands in diverse markets and industries. The initiative targeted a big and audacious goal of building 100,000 African SMEs and startup businesses into globally sustainable brands in a life time.
Presently in the UK, I am building a community of black and minority entrepreneurs to be empowered by a virtual enterprise incubator, kukumbatribe.com , a platform designed to provide affordable business support, community collaboration and mentoring intervention for minority entrepreneurs. The driving goal of the platform is to facilitate inclusive entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem and to also bridge the palpable gap between the aspirations of many migrant and minority entrepreneurs and access to critical growth supports.
I anchor my personal philosophy and world view on systematic imagination. I strongly believe in inexhaustible nature and transformative power of imagination.
If a man is stripped of everything, his imaginative capabilities can enable him to recreate his life and design a better world. Specifically speaking, I am particularly keen about how imagination could be conceptualized, constructed and instrumentalized by conscientious stakeholders to restore social, economic and environmental balance in a world that is urgently begging for authentic and sustainable order. Finally, I believe we need to reimagine and redefine concepts, reorganise processes and systems that give birth to inequitable and chaotic world we live in. With practical application of systematic imagination, we can co-create new possibilities for a better world
