I am on a journey to support education and implementation of sustainable practices, with a bias for simplicity.
After 15+ years in marketing and tech, where I lead services teams supporting internal and external customers, I embarked in my own transition towards sustainability more than a year ago and went back to study. What the end looks like is still pretty much work in progress at that stage, and I am hoping this network can help me to shape it.
I started my career as a mechanical engineer, quickly moved to tech and tech consultancy in particular. I then started managing a services team in the digital technology space and did that for 10+ years. One of the constants in my industry has been fast pace change. Sustaining my team’s services under constant pressure has presented many challenges, from which I have learnt a lot in terms of the importance of prioritization and the fact that tech alone can not solve everything, but it does help!
I am a Mental Health advocate and did some work as a mental health coach, mainly focusing on dealing with challenges at work, supporting new managers and building positive team dynamics and wellbeing. I have a strong interest in neuroscience and what it teaches us in terms of behavioural change.
Whether it is mental health, climate change, or any of the many challenges we face, it has become incredibly complicated to navigate and understand concrete action that you or your business can take. I guess it is the abundance of science and information points which is driving us in many directions.
Ironically, “Science teaches us that everything in the universe tends towards change and simplicity” (borrowed quote) which summarizes more elegantly my mindset.
I definitely believe that we need simplicity, clarity in order to drive any long term incremental change.
I also work a lot with Game developers and have a special interest in the intersection of fun games and driving passive education.
I am a team player and believe we are all in this together. “Together is better” (reference: Illustration book by Simon Siinek). I really enjoy meeting people in this area and hear about their unique journey so don’t hesitate to reach out.
So in summary, I want to combine my experience in business leadership, product marketing, training and coaching with my passion for Mental health and Sustainability.
