I’m a business owner and manager of a Zero-Waste Plastic-free shop called Almond & Co. situated in Westbourne, Bournemouth of 5 years, with a keen interest in sustainability, holistic natural conscious living, health, art, psychology and spirituality.
Through conscious awareness of how we treat ourselves, does it lead to how we treat others and the planet too? Healing ourselves and healing the world, acting in care and love creates the shift towards a more positive future. Leading by example rather than criticism, to supply and show others the positive alternative and through education we can help plant the seeds of positive shifts throughout our society. Waking society up to a conscious life every almond at a time (sometimes they are covered in chocolate).
Through my experiences of running my shop, I am facing the growing need for community, natural health alternatives, education, supporting the local economy and supporting each other, sustainable practices and services and products.
In seeing this, my next venture is to set up an Eco Community Health Hub incorporating multiple businesses with ethical principles and the drive to provide true healing to the community working alongside and with each other to create a dynamic thriving hub. The main elements being a zero-waste shop, health shop, holistic lifestyle shop, organic-cafe, one-to-one consultation rooms, studio spaces, workshops, talks, classes, events, programmes, retreats, experiences, food growing and much much more. This would be to allow people find everything they need in one place to access and learn about a more mindful holistic lifestyle that supports our health and the planets health at the core.Â
Alongside my shop I also host painting workshops and events, studying illustration at university then rediscovering my love of art through teaching it as a side business! Boosting the mind, mood and memory through the act of creating art is such an honour to be able to facilitate, creating a challenging, but also relaxing and uplifting experience, creating such an amazing shift in my clients’ wellbeing.
