Community Matters
"... networks tend to be transactional, whereas communities are relational and the members support and look after each other"
Connect, challenge and support
ASP creates the spaces where collaborative learning can occur. Our Members are a community of practitioners dedicated to creating a future in which there is enough for everyone, forever. ASP provides three core pillars to support them – Connection, Challenge and Support.
Connection occurs across national boundaries, many generations and between a diverse range of practices and skills.
Challenge arises both from the societies we live in, that are far from the balance and harmony with nature that we need to re-member, and from within our community, where different perspectives and view points, different cultures and values, create a rich mix of learning opportunities. In ASP’s “safe places” we hear every voice and respect every perspective.
Support arises naturally from the web of personal relationships that develop. And because of the insights we get, because of our work, to the manifestations of the existential threats we face, we need this support to stay active and motivated as agents of change. We care for each other.
As the community has evolved we’ve recognised two specific ways in which we need to support each other. We’ve created:
- a members’ Pay-It-Forward fund that enables members to stay actively engaged in the community and
- a Community Coaching scheme whereby some of our coaches and mentors offer their services to other members.
Pay-It-Forward
Life is a series of transitions between lows and highs. A hall-mark of thriving communities is that they are support structures for their members – the members support and nurture each other, especially in times of difficulties.Â
Our members have requested a Pay-It-Forward scheme, a discrete fund to be used to pay for the membership renewal of members experiencing a low.
The objective is to enable them to actively participate in the community for a further year.
An anonymous gift, creating a web of indebtedness that unites and strengthens the relationships within the community.
If you need to take advantage of this when it is time to renew your membership contact “PIF” at asp.coordination@gmail.com
If you want to donate to the Pay-It-Forward fund you can HERE
Community coaches
Our wonderful community of coaches have responded to a call out for pro bono coaching for those in most need and who wouldn’t normally be able to afford these kinds of services, and also coaching on a discounted and/or barter basis for any ASP Members. There is no vetting process, it’s an honesty system, offered by our coaches for those in need.
This has been designed by the coaches to ensure it doesn’t clash with their own, and other fellow coaches’ practices and business, time-wise and financially.
