In this session, we discussed sustainable finance and ethical insurance practices, focusing on the approaches of Triodos Bank and Naturesave Insurance in promoting positive environmental and social impact through their services.

Tamsin Bishton, Louisa Dean, and Gwyn Jones hosted a one-hour discussion in the run-up to Content Rising, exploring the challenges and opportunities in aligning financial products with sustainability goals, including risk assessment, climate change considerations, and supporting purpose-led businesses. We also also touched on the importance of effective communication and public awareness regarding the role of banking and insurance choices in addressing environmental and social issues.

We heard from:

  • Ed Grattan from Triodos Bank. Just recently, Triodos launched a new TV advertising campaign to emphasize the significance of banking choices in terms of their impact on the world. The ad was filmed by Matt Golding of Rubber Republic and Antidote, who we held a session with last October.
  • James Holt from Naturesave Insurance. He discusses the role of insurance in ethical and environmental initiatives, and encourages consumers to ask insurance providers tough questions about their environmental policies and investments, and to consider switching to providers that align with their values.
