I’m an American who has spent the past 25 years working outside the United States. This wasn’t a nomadic stretch, but a series of long, grounded chapters in different regions. I spent an extended period based in Barcelona, Spain, followed by significant time living and working in China. After that came a more recent period in Indonesia, followed by several years based in rural Italy. In the past months, I’ve relocated from Italy to Cardiff with my wife and young children.
My background is practical and operational. Much of my career has involved doing the work required to make things function on the ground, rather than staying within a single industry or role. Over the years, I’ve worked across events, PR, communications, logistics-heavy roles, education, emergency work, and creative production.
Prior to COVID, I worked as a production manager on a feature film.
Around the same period, I was involved for three years in environmental and educational programs that brought students from China to rural Spain. These programs combined land-based learning, mindfulness, poetry, cultural exchange, and complex logistics.
Alongside this, I’ve worked as an actor and director, including directing and performing Shakespeare in the Park, as well as directing theatre and running drama workshops in both Spain and China. I also taught drama and worked as a musician. Over time, these experiences shaped how I persist in projects, with attention to people first and a strong bias toward clarity and accountability.
AgroReGenerations — supporting small farmers with real tools, real training, real opportunities.
In more recent years, my work has focused on early-stage technology, while staying anchored in the real-world economy. I’m currently the Lead Architect and Co-Founder of AgroReGenerations (ARG). At its core, ARG supports small farmers through regenerative agriculture by providing practical tools, training, and opportunities that strengthen livelihoods and restore land.
⭐ Regenerating land for a stronger future. Restoring land. Strengthening livelihoods.
PatchRoot
Alongside ARG, I’m involved in PatchRoot.org, a seasonal journal and public digital commons. Under my stewardship, together with colleagues from a Regenerative Leadership Program at UPEACE University, PatchRoot is designed to showcase stories, individuals, and visions of projects working in regenerative sustainability. It also serves as a space for citizen science and includes a micro-grant element intended to support early ideas and practitioners. Our first publication is funded and scheduled for March 21, with a spring theme centered on rebirth and youth.
Outside of my professional work, I’m a father first. I’m also grounded in service and volunteerism, including Red Cross work. My lifelong interests include literature, languages, cooking, and horticulture (of course). I’m deeply interested in land-based systems, and I’m
also a bit of a numismatist (a coin nerd), with a broader interest in history and how value systems and context shape people, societies, and where we’re headed next.
I’m grateful to be part of this community.
