I help communities write and then enact their Community Climate Action plan; through a series of participatory workshops, culminating in a Peoples’ Assembly to ratify the plan.
The process brings a community together to face our poly crisis, with an emphasis on the Climate & Ecological Emergency. The outcome of the process, which explores and documents stakeholders, shared values, health & wellbeing and community resilience is a specific plan with themes & projects for systemic change; at scale & speed. The process builds capacity in the community, with individuals forming teams & working groups and supports leaders to step forward. The process is inclusive and designed for all ages (can be delivered in schools, from primary, through secondary to HE / FE). Writing and delivering your Community Climate Action plan gives a mandate for action in your community and delivers agency. You can’t have a million, without one; what you do right now matters.
Services include consultancy, planning & workshop facilitation, for Councils & Communities wishing to take collective action.
I have spent 25 years in the private sector, as Managing Director and Director at a PLC (in the land and “prop tech” sector), before working in the 3rd sector for a Think Tank; Shared Assets (who’s focus is common good land use with shared benefits), creating a mapping application (Land Explorer) to support community led development.
A founder of the Community Benefit Society iFarm (10 acres of land in Norfolk), that has also taken on the local pub (The White Horse) as a hub for activity, I have helped to bring my community together to deliver Community Climate Action planning (an initiative funded by the National Lottery and incubated by the Climate Majority Project).
This incorporates a series of participatory workshops and deliberative democracy to create and then enact a community plan – action on: Housing, Energy, Transport, Food and Biodiversity increase. Community Climate Action planning has led to the formation of a Suffolk Green Cluster of Parishes, working together, who are now also founding members of the Suffolk Community Energy Steering Group in collaboration with Community Energy South and Suffolk County Council’s Climate Change Partnership.

I am a Parish Councillor in Hopton cum Knettishall and works for Suffolk Farming and Wildlife Group, as a Business Development Consultant – helping farmers transition to more sustainable agriculture and connecting communities with those who grow their food.
I am also Director of The Great Collaboration (a toolkit designed to support Council & Community Climate Action).
