Hello, I’m Cate, a researcher, academic and designer, on a mission is to engage people with nature and wild spaces for wellbeing and learning.
I create interactive trails and games that use compelling media and augmented reality (AR) to immerse people in a landscape and communicate important messages about
wildlife and habitats where they are needed. Enabling access to the countryside for more people is important to me and the trails can support those with visual impairments and deliver communications in a compatible format for younger generations. For children specifically, I create character and story adventures, providing fun outdoor experiences that support the school curriculum.
My background is in education, and I also have a part time lecturing role delivering product design subjects.
My specialisms are sustainable design, UX, systemic approaches and life cycle analysis, alongside research methods to work with stakeholders and communities. I am part of a creative team, focused on circular and eco design projects and have the good fortunate to work with young people who inspire creativity and keep me on my toes.
