I’ve been feeling a bit stretched and overwhelmed lately with many spinning plates, so I’ve put together a little tool to help me decide what projects and ideas to say yes (and no) to in 2026 and beyond.
I’ve used a version of this approach for years, but I’ve now reworked it and expanded the criteria. I’m sharing it here, because I know there are many others in ASP who struggle with the same challenges when it comes to freelance/fractional/project-based work. Or, just have too many ideas and need a way to prioritise!
I’ve turned it into a resource (with instructions) in case it’s helpful to anyone else. Consider it a small gift from me to you. Take what’s useful, leave the rest!
I like having it as a form and a spreadsheet because it helps me visualise the scores and see the patterns in my projects over time, but honestly, you can do the simple maths on the back of an envelope.
