From Dr David F. Murphy:

“This event will present and explore some of the book’s key themes in a panel discussion with the author, Leda Stott, and representatives of three organizations whose work has informed the content of the publication: Bulbul Baksi, Lead for Learning and Advanced Practice at the Partnership Brokers Association (PBA), Carlos Mataix, Director of theInnovation and Technology for Development Centre at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (itdUPM) and David F. Murphy, Academic Lead at the Initiative for Leadership and Sustainability at the University of Cumbria (IFLAS) and Series Editor of Citizenship and Sustainability in Organizations

“Partnership and Transformation: The Promise of Multi-stakeholder Collaboration in Context” argues that partnership must be understood in relation to specific contexts and the added value that it may offer for individuals, organizations and wider society. Drawing on evidence from both academics and practitioners, the book suggests that the transformational potential of partnership rests critically upon a move away from purely instrumental considerations of its worth to a deeper appreciation of its intrinsic value as a process based on interpersonal relationships.

A stronger balance between pragmatic and reflective dimensions of partnership can, it is claimed, enhance opportunities for meaningful deliberation and productive conflict, and contribute to the systems change needed for a global citizenship that embraces human well-being and stewardship of the planet.”
