Through my work, I am motivated by helping to create happy, high quality, resilient and efficient places – places that increase wellbeing, minimise negative whole-life impacts and provide both business benefit and social added-value in this critical era of ecological and climate emergency.”
I am a purpose-driven and committed sustainability practitioner with more than 20 years of experience working in the environmental and property sectors.
My career spans both in-house and advisory roles for social enterprises, public sector and commercial organisations ranging from micro SME to FTSE250. I am business founder, strategic advisor, change-maker, active charity Trustee, and proud father.
A forester’s son from rural Dorset, with a Masters in Urbanism, the natural and built environment, and our relationship with it, has fascinated me since a young age. Through my work, I am motivated by helping to create happy, high quality, resilient and efficient places – places that increase wellbeing, minimise negative whole-life impacts and provide both business benefit and social added-value in this critical era of ecological and climate emergency.
In 2016 I founded Futureground, as a team of sustainable place strategists helping organisations to create positive impact through a better built environment.
We do this by bringing new, creative and realistic solutions to help solve our biggest social and environmental charities.
Our clients include private, public and community-powered entities involved in making and managing buildings and places. We advice at both organisational and place-based levels.
I am a trustee at Share and Repair, a charity in Bath and North East Somerset which helps local people to save money and the planet through reduce, repair and reuse initiatives.
We do this through the Share and Repair shop, where our Library of Things is based, and via monthly Repair Cafes and regular How To workshops.
