This new group, initiated by Bournemouth University, the Association of Sustainability Practitioners and Poole Bay Rotary, supported by Barclays Bank, will be a dynamic, collaborative forum supporting and promoting social enterprises.
It will bring together a wide range of local businesses, potential funders, specialist advisers, BU staff, students and researchers. We will run themed sessions every month to support the needs of the local social enterprise community.
The first step is always the most important. Come along to help create the foundation and set the agenda for the BU Social Entrepreneurs Forum.
We are all waking up to the fact that the decisions we make in business leaves a footprint on the world we live in, socially and environmentally. Being a social enterprise (SE) start up is now the norm, with there being 3 times as many SE start-ups as that of SMEs. Creating the change we want to see is possible and this is something worth celebrating.
In order to keep on making a difference through social enterprise we need a fertile environment that allows us all to thrive. A place to spark ideas, learn best practice and collaborate with other like-minded entrepreneurs – whatever stage we’re at.
We’re asking the question: As social enterprises in BCP, what can we make happen when we’re thriving?
