Multi-Award winning Black Chapel Collective communicating sustainability.
The Black Chapel Collective are an Essex based group of electronic artists, DJs, musicians, poets, rappers creatively exploring Climate Change with the Connect Project.
“Over the past year since Lockdown, we have been writing and producing CONNECT. Originally planned as an audio/visual Live experience working with a number of local musicians, the project had to adapt numerous times as the Pandemic took hold and all our lives changed forever.
With the help of a grant from Chelmsford City Council, the Live show became a film – though still recorded live and filmed at Hot Box, in the City.
That film became CONNECT and to date it has been seen over 25k times. The film has recieved numerous International Film awards and accolades from all over the world.
The Connect Project has attracted the attention of the likes of Composer, Producer Talvin Singh OBE who contacted the project to pass on his congratulations. SKY NEWS interviewed us about CONNECT, and our concerns about climate change. With COP26 taking place in Glasgow in November, The Black Chapel Collective has a year long plan to highlight the growing concerns of the dangers confronting our planet.
Co-written and performed with some of the most talented musicians in the region, including, Rachel Brooks, Lucia Holm from Sunscreem, Ce Ce Xavier, rapper SafeNath, poet Kelli-Marie Sellwood, CONNECT has become a vehicle for the voices of our local musicians and reflects the impact on all their lives of Covid 19 and climate change.“
