Miranda Simmons

I’m a Sustainability Consultant and Trainer, working in the Television production industry.

For most of my career, I’ve been a Line Producer, with a background in factual programming for broadcasters in the UK and abroad.

I became fascinated and inspired about climate solutions on a personal level through the Transition Town movement and Rob Hopkins and, after spending a year on a climate history series, “Man on Earth” with Tony Robinson, I wanted to put sustainability into my work too, and became a Carbon Literacy Trainer for BAFTA’s sustainability organisation, Albert.

With my colleagues at Picture Zero, I’ve been working with TV productions and Broadcasters, to support their sustainability goals, encouraging creatives to embed solutions and climate information in their content, as well as improving carbon footprints and action plans to reduce our industry’s impact.

I’ve also become a Member of IEMA and a Fellow of the RSA.
