CONNECT is a mixed-media creative response to climate change involving the creative group of musician, video artists, film makers, DJs, rappers, dancers and poets all passionate about the impacts of climate change using a hybrid of contemporary music, visuals, computer graphics, speech samples, poetry and dance, connected to address the environmental crisis in a modern language for our culture both engages with data and understands intimately as part of their cultural DNA.
The project is influenced incorporated by the current science on climate change, contemporary and exciting media, that both includes that is relevant to young people that does not exclude any age, culture, gender, sexual orientation or belief. The project is also influenced by the wide input from different faith traditions, including indigenous cultures who clearly offer centuries of wisdom guidance and input.
Throughout history, the arts and culture have built bridges between communities. They’ve played a role in helping reconciliation and understanding that can challenge ordinary experiences, enable us to think about other people in society in an more engaged way the traditional political dialogue. With this approach CONNECT both awakens us to the incredible beauty, magnificence, diversity of our planet. It also challenges us to fiercely to defend it.
